A mile-long pedestrian-friendly mall packed with shopping, restaurants and attractions in downtown Denver.
Designed by famed architect I.M. Pei, the pedestrian promenade is made of red, white and gray granite in a repeating pattern that, seen from above, resembles the skin of a diamondback rattlesnake. Free shuttle buses, dubbed the MallRide, travel up and down the 16th Street Mall, stopping on every corner. Hop on and hop off as the shuttles come and go every few minutes and make everything downtown easy to reach.
The Mall is the spine that connects all of downtown, from the city's transportation hub and a locals' favorite hangout, Denver Union Station, at one end to Civic Center Park and the Colorado State Capitol at the other. And just off the Mall, you'll find major attractions like the Denver Performing Arts Complex within the Denver Theatre District and the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver).
It's also easy to get to Larimer Square, Denver’s urban shopping district where Victorian buildings house specialty boutiques and unique chef-driven restaurants. And only three blocks from the Mall is McGregor Square, which boasts a baseball-themed hotel, chef-driven food hall, shops, restaurants, bars and a large outdoor plaza.
Construction Update
The Mall is currently being revitalized but staying open for business! The RTD’s Free MallRide bus will continue running, so make sure to check upcoming detours onto 15th and 17th Streets.

Things to See and Do
The mall offers Denver's best people-watching. There are 42 outdoor cafés along the mall, making it the perfect place to grab a bite to eat or have a drink. Denver Pavilions, near the south end of the mall, is a shopping and dining complex with 12 movie theaters and more than two dozen shops and restaurants. At the north end of the mall, 16th Street continues as a pedestrian path over three bridges connecting downtown to Commons Park and LoHi, a hip neighborhood filled with restaurants and brewpubs.

While you’re here, take a look at the striking Daniels & Fisher Tower, a two-thirds replica of the Campanile of St. Mark's in Venice that was the highest building west of the Mississippi when it was built in 1909. Inside this historic landmark is the Clocktower Cabaret, a nightclub offering comedy, musical acts and more.
After dark, horse-drawn carriages and pedi-cabs carry people up and down the mall, while nearly a million lights twinkle above in the more than 200 trees that line the promenade.
16th Street Mall Attractions and Shopping
Skyline Park – Located at 15th and Arapahoe streets, Skyline Park is always a fun place to spend a little time, especially during the summer, when visitors to the Skyline Beer Garden can enjoy brews on draft, street food, a family-friendly game area and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. My Favorite Muffin – If a quick and tasty breakfast or meal is on your radar, head straight for My Favorite Muffin, where you'll find more than 16 varieties of from-scratch muffins, a variety of made-to-order breakfast and lunch sandwiches made freshly baked bagels, and rich Brewsters coffee.
The Delectable Egg – This Market Street location launched The Delectable Egg in 1982 and has since grown to five restaurants that offer friendly neighborhood atmospheres and a mouthwatering and creative breakfast menu served through lunch.

Modern Market – This Colorado-based eatery serves farm-to-table, scratch-made foods that can be ordered at the counter, including breakfast scrambles, wholegrain waffles, toasted sandwiches, brick-oven pizzas, fresh salads, hearty soups and more.

Earls Kitchen + Bar – Two large patios that look out onto the 16th Street Mall, a large recently renovated dining space and a full bar and lounge combine with tasty international cuisine to make Earls a go-to spot for visitors and locals.
West Saloon & Kitchen – Located in the historic Kittredge Building, West of Surrender offers food and drink from the American West made modern: familiar ingredients from a storied place and time, reimagined for today’s tastes. Enjoy a cold beer on the outdoor patio while noshing on distinctly Western fare like sidewinder green chile fries, elk meatballs and cast iron chicken pot pie.
AJAX Downtown – This new concept is a sister restaurant to the iconic AJAX Tavern in Aspen and features contemporary American cuisine that ignites the senses in an upscale, yet comfortable urban setting. Honoring the art of cooking over open flames, AJAX Downtown’s coal-fired cooking techniques on a Josper Grill will take center stage.
The Kitchen – Created in Colorado and now with several locations, The Kitchen is a farm-to-table bistro with food and drink that ebb and flow with the season and features goods from local farmers and purveyors. A raw bar, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes are on the menu.

Henry’s Tavern – Henry’s takes the concept of a local watering hole to a whole new level with a menu that incorporates ingredients and inspiration from the region, more than 100 beers on tap (and ciders, too) and live music from May through July.
Rock Bottom Brewery – Fresh, handcrafted beers brewed on premise are the highlight but diners also fall in love with beer-inspired entrees, steak, ale dough pizza, tacos, burgers and sandwiches along with Friday night music on the patio during summer.

Juice Kitchen – Family-owned and operated for more than 20 years, Denver's original Juice Kitchen offers fresh juices, smoothies, vegan options and made-to-order breakfast burritos available all day. Located on 17th Street.
801 Fish – This seafood-centric eatery on 17th Street offers the freshest finned fish and crustaceans from the most pristine coastal waters of the world. Poke Club – Poke Club specializes in authentic and healthy meals made fresh to order every single day that you won't be able to get enough of! Order a variety of great-tasting items, including poke bowls, seafood, sushi bowls, ramen and boba (also known as bubble tea). Located on the corner of 15th and Stout streets.
Sam's No. 3 Diner and Bar – Featured on the Food Network's Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives, Sam's No. 3 has been serving up Denver's favorite comfort food since 1927. The restaurant, famous for its green chili, boasts a full coffee and espresso bar, breakfast all day, lunch, dinner, and sports on more than a dozen TVs. Located on the corner of 15th and Curtis streets.
STK Denver – Artfully blending the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge into one, STK Denver offers a dynamic fine dining experience with the superior quality of a traditional steakhouse. Tupelo Honey – Yes, is it possible to find classic Southern cuisine in the Colorado Rockies! Situated just a block off 16th Street on Wewatta Street near Union Station, Tupelo Honey's menu features Southern small plates and re-imagined classics like fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, and multiple fried chicken dishes. Finish it off with a bowl of "heavenly" banana pudding.
