There's no better way to spend a cool summer night in The Mile High City than enjoying a great movie in the great outdoors, whether on a blanket in the grass or from the comfort of your car.
Join Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse for an outdoor summer movie series in their new backyard space. Enjoy themed cocktails and nibbles at each show. Doors open at 8 p.m. and movies will begin at dusk. Tickets are $5 per person and 100 percent of ticket sales will go to Big City Mountaineers, a local organization dedicated to improving the lives of under-resourced kids by getting them outdoors on wilderness expeditions. Advanced tickets are required and guests must bring their own chair or blanket and set up on a marked "x" to ensure social distancing.
Film on the Rocks Drive-In at Red Rocks
One of Denver's top summertime events, Film On The Rocks lets you enjoy blockbuster entertainment on the big screen in the incomparable setting of Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This year's Film on the Rocks will be a new, drive-in experience! Every car will receive a concessions package including two bottles of Coca-Cola product, City Pop popcorn, and theater-sized M&M’s and Twizzlers. In addition, Chick-Fil-A is available for discounted pre-purchase online or cashless payment on-site. Gates open at 6 p.m. and movies start at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $59.50 per car.
LAGERHARD MOVIE NIGHT IN THE BEER HALL
Bierstadt Lagerhaus is set up with all social-distancing measures in place, with tables spread throughout the entire Beer Hall. Come early to get the best seats, because only 50 people will be allowed in for each film — first come, first served. Movies are free, and beer and munchies will be available for purchase, so bring your appetite!
This family-friendly drive-in film series features free music and a movie in Golden's Heritage Square Lower Parking Lot. Music begins at 7 p.m. and movies start at dusk, around 8 p.m.
The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder has turned arthouse cinema for the summer! Movies will start when it is dark, so please arrive between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. so that you can get a parking space. Tickets are $25 per car and must be purchased in advance.
DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATERS
The Denver Mart Drive In is Denver's urban outdoor theater with the largest state-of-the-art digital screen in the region, FM transmission for audio, an indoor café and restrooms. Enjoy first-run double features of PG/PG-13 movies every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Some of this year's films include "The Goonies," "Radiers of the Lost Ark," "Sonic the Hedgehog," "Jumanji: The Next Level," "Grease," "Dirty Dancing" and "Bloodshot."
The 88 Drive In Theatre is the last remaining original drive-in in the Denver metro area and has been serving the community since 1972. Watch blockbuster movies on a giant screen and enjoy delicious snacks from the historic Snackbar. Some of this summer's movies include "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," "Fantasy Island," "Inside Out," "Talladega Nights" and "Black Panther"!
