TOGETHER, out west… We Rise
Help us bring the Gay Games, one of the biggest LGBTQIA2S+ sports and culture events in the world, to Denver in 2030. Denver is a city that champions equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. We also offer a unique blend of urban energy and outdoor adventure, backed by a vibrant, integrated LGBTQIA2S+ community and a deep commitment to safety, making us the ideal choice to host this powerful global event and inspire meaningful change.
Together Out West — Denver’s bid for the 2030 Gay Games XIII. Since 1982, the International Federation of Gay Games mission promotes diversity, equity and inclusion through sport and culture.
Why Denver?
Denver's bid is strong due to excellent infrastructure, financial stability, global connectivity via Denver International Airport, and accessible accommodations. As a world-class destination, our central location, stunning scenery, lively culture, and passionate sports scene promise an unforgettable experience, enhanced by a compact Gay Games Village design. Critically, Denver demonstrates exceptional LGBTQIA2S+ support, evidenced by pioneering political leaders like Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, strong city council representation, progressive policies, the thriving 'Lavender Hill' district, massive PrideFest attendance, and top safety rankings, ensuring a welcoming and affirming environment.
Land Acknowledgment
The Gay Games Denver 2030 Bid Committee acknowledges the Indigenous Peoples whose traditional territories encompass Colorado and the United States. We honor their Elders past, present, and future, and recognize the enduring stewardship of these lands throughout generations. We also recognize that government, academic, and cultural institutions were founded upon, and often continue, the exclusions and erasures of Indigenous Peoples.
A More Inclusive Future
Hosting the Gay Games Denver 2030 represents a promise of a more inclusive future, amplifying the "TOGETHER OUT WEST" message globally. Help us secure the honor of hosting and create a truly transformative experience for the LGBTQIA2S+ community worldwide, advancing acceptance and understanding. Built upon the principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best™ since 1982, the Federation of Gay Games exists to promote equity, diversity and inclusion through sport and culture. The Gay Games was developed by Dr. Tom Waddell, an Olympic decathlete, and was first held in San Francisco in 1982.
Subsequent Gay Games were held in San Francisco (1986), Vancouver (1990), New York (1994), Amsterdam (1998), Sydney (2002), Chicago (2006), Cologne (2010), Cleveland+Akron (2014), Paris (2018), Hong Kong and Guadalajara (2023), and Gay Games XII will take place in Valencia in 2026.
