ESTES PARK
From Denver, there are various routes to reach Rocky Mountain National Park but one of the most enjoyable is through Loveland. And just a short drive west is the Big Thompson Canyon and Estes Park, longtime favorites of Coloradans and visitors alike. After exploring hiking, snowshoeing and biking trails (and probably seeing wildlife along the way, especially an abundance of elk) grab a sweet treat like saltwater taffy or fudge in the bustling downtown and check out local breweries and distilleries to quench your thirst.
