If you're looking for a Rocky Mountain "boot camp" to jump-start your summer conditioning, here are several public places you can work out while enjoying the scenery, the camaraderie and the fun of being outdoors in Denver's fresh, dry, mile-high climate! The following list covers ongoing and annual events, but that's only scratching the surface. Civic Center MOVES is a free fitness series for all experience levels year-round. Best of all, from late April through early October the classes happen right in the heart of Downtown's beautiful Civic Center Park. Produced by the Civic Center Conservancy, the current class schedule includes full-body, running-based workouts with The November Project on Wednesday mornings.

No need to head to the studio. Innovative Yogis will bring the studio to you. They can deliver a nourishing practice for the mind, body and soul for your private group at an Airbnb rental or in a nearby park. Don't have equipment? From mats and blocks to music and aromatherapy, all materials are provided so that you just need to show up and enjoy the experience. They also handle everything from conferences to weddings to retreats in the mountains.

Join other yoga enthusiasts for a sunrise session at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, one of the most spectacular venues in the world. The Yoga on the Rocks sessions are held at 7 a.m. on Saturday mornings during the summer. Bring water and a yoga mat! The July 9 and Aug. 6 classes are bilingual for English and Spanish speakers!

At Denver Botanic Gardens, awaken your energy and unlock your inner potential through breathing, movement, stretching, meditation and mantra with yoga at the Gardens. Just bring your yoga mat and a bottle of water, and breathe in the fresh, floral air. Check the events calendar for days and times.

If you want to experience yoga and Colorado's great outdoors it doesn't get better than this. Zen Out Yoga offers hiking along with stops to practice yoga and meditation while you take in fresh mountain air. Start your weekend with a Saturday morning Stretch & Sip yoga class. This is your invitation to unwind and relax with a 60-minute yoga session on the outdoor patio of the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station. This donation-based class will be supporting a local wellness nonprofit. Following class, attendees are invited for a complimentary mimosa with a purchase of an entrée at Woodie Fisher Kitchen & Bar!

Meet up with fellow fitness enthusiasts for the Highland Tap & Burger Run Club, and run a pre-planned 5k- or 10k-loop around the historic neighborhoods of Lower Downtown and the Highlands. All runners get free pasta and salad, as well as 20 percent off select beers. Highland Tap & Burger features dozens of Colorado craft beers on tap and in bottles.

Denver’s springtime race is the ultimate running tour of the city — with mountain views. The Colfax Marathon starts and finishes in City Park and travels through Empower Field at Mile High (where the Broncos play) and along seven miles of rivers, lakes and bridges, while a half marathon takes a route through the zoo. Ten-mile and 5K options are also available.

The Denver Cruiser Ride is a weekly pub crawl that meets on Wednesday nights to cycle safely through the streets of Denver. A mid-week Mile High City tradition for over a decade, each of the 20 summer rides boasts a different theme — often involving zany costumes. With close to 60,000 people turning out over the season, the Denver Cruiser Ride has become the largest weekly bike party on the planet! Past themes have included Denver 1894, Mad Max, Bike Prom and Birds & Bees. Check the website on Wednesday afternoon for that night's starting point.
