A Guided Walk - Forest Bathing
Experience the relaxing practice of forest bathing: shinrin-yoku. Bathe in the atmosphere of the forest through mindful engagement of the senses. Studies suggest that a regular practice of forest bathing may be associated with a reduction in blood pressure, heart rate and stress hormones. During this walk, the guide invites ways to engage the senses for closer connection with the surrounding nature. You will move slowly and mindfully through the forest as you are guided through a series of invitations to engage your senses for closer connection with the surrounding nature. The walk begins at 9 a.m. (this does not include travel time to get to the walk starting point) and lasts 2.5 hours. Detailed information about location will be emailed out about a week before the walk.
1007 York St. Denver, CO America/North_Dakota/Center

Tibetan Singing Bowls Spring Concert
The Denver Botanic Gardens will be hosting its semi-annual Tibetan Bowls Concert to celebrate Spring!!!.

Denver Yoga instructor and sound healer Chris Anne Coviello and her husband Jason Coviello will be performing together to bring you this spring treat. The concert will begin with Jason playing his Hang Drum which is a very rare steel drum that is made by only two people in the world. Some say it sounds like a stringed instrument. Jason's Hang Drum is tuned to the note that vibrationally corresponds to the heart chakra and when he plays the drum, he takes you on a heart-opening journey.

Jason and Chris Anne will then begin playing the singing bowls which are tuned to all the different musical notes that correspond to the different chakras, so they will balance the energy in the body. And since we are made up of mostly water, the vibrational effect will be a full body cellular massage.

Tibetan Singing bowls which have been used for thousands of years as instruments of healing.

So come and Relax and close your eyes and drift into an altered state which facilitates the body to heal. Make sure you wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat or blanket so that you may lie down and let the bells carry away with them all that no longer serves you. As your chakra's re-align, breathe peace and enter the profound state of physical-mental and emotional well-being. Leave as if you were 10lbs lighter, because that is exactly what will happen as the pounds of stress, anxiety and fear melt from your system.
1007 York St. Denver, CO America/North_Dakota/Center

Michael McDonald
With a career that encompasses five Grammys, numerous chart successes and personal and professional accolades, as well as collaborations with some of the world's most prominent artists, Michael McDonald remains an enduring force in popular music. Hailing from St. Louis, McDonald arrived in Los Angeles in the early 1970s, honing his talents as a studio musician before becoming an integral part of Steely Dan. In the mid-'70s McDonald was invited to join the Doobie Brothers as the band redefined their sound with McDonald serving as singer, keyboardist and songwriter on such Top 40 singles as "Takin' It To The Streets," "It Keeps You Runnin'," "Minute By Minute" and "What A Fool Believes." Throughout the '80s and '90s McDonald's solo career took off with a string of hits including "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)," "Sweet Freedom," "On My Own" (with Patti LaBelle) and the Grammy-winning James Ingram duet "Yah Mo B There," plus he co-wrote the Van Halen hit "I'll Wait." McDonald has performed with a who's-who of critically acclaimed artists across a number of genres, including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Vince Gill and Grizzly Bear.
1007 York St. Denver, CO America/North_Dakota/Center

Gipsy Kings
It has been twenty-five years since the Gipsy Kings captured the world's imagination with their self-titled debut album—a record that became a genuine phenomenon, certified gold and platinum around the globe, introducing millions of listeners to a unique, irresistible blend of traditional flamenco styles with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Since then, the band has toured virtually non-stop, to the farthest-flung corners of the planet, and sold almost twenty million albums, all the while retaining the same line-up of virtuoso musicians.

Now the Gipsy Kings return with SAVOR FLAMENCO, their ninth studio album and first new release in six years. The project marks the first time in their storied career that the Kings have produced themselves and written all of the material. It also starts a relationship between France's most successful musical group of all time and a new label, Knitting Factory Records.
1007 York St. Denver, CO America/North_Dakota/Center

Double Vision Revisited featuring Bob James, David Sanborn & Marcus Miller
A jazz legend, Bob James has a career that has defined the genre and continues to evolve at every turn. David Sanborn is universally known as one of the most iconic saxophonists of the current age. Marcus Miller's characteristic bass sound can be heard on a limitless catalog of musical hits. Together, these three virtuosos reunite for the first time since the release of Double Vision, the 80s collaboration between James and Sanborn that dominated the airwaves, sold over one million copies, and earned a GRAMMY Award. Featuring the renowned track "Maputo," written by Marcus Miller, and the classic standard "Since I Fell For You" with guest vocalist Al Jarreau, Double Vision is considered by many as one of the most successful albums in the jazz genre.

Adding in the talents of featured guests Billy Kilson (drums) and Larry Braggs (guest vocals), the Double Vision Revisited band is a thrilling return to the classic sound of the famous album. The resulting program presents tunes capable of both amazing new listeners and enthralling long-term fans, showing audiences the world over the true magic of a good groove.
1007 York St. Denver, CO America/North_Dakota/Center

JJ Grey & Mofro and Johnny Lang
From the days of playing greasy local juke joints to headlining major festivals, JJ Grey remains an unfettered, blissful performer, singing with a blue-collared spirit over the bone-deep grooves of his compositions. His presence before an audience is something startling and immediate, at times a funk rave-up, other times a sort of mass-absolution for the mortal weaknesses that make him and his audience human. When you see JJ Grey and his band Mofro live—and you truly, absolutely must—the man is fearless.

It is hard to believe that at 36 years old Jonny Lang has already had a successful career for two decades.

Easier to believe when you learn he released his first platinum record at 15—an age when many young people are just beginning to play music. Lie to Me revealed a talent that transcended the crop of blues prodigies floating around in the late Nineties. No flashy re-hasher of classic blues licks, even at that early age Lang was a full-blown artist with a style of his own. Also, setting Lang apart from the wunderkind crowd was a 15-year-old voice that sounded like a weathered soul shouter. Actual life experience was yet to come, and has been subsequently chronicled in a series of five uniformly excellent recordings. "I got married, had kids, and that arc has been recorded on albums along the way," says Lang. "There is a lot of personal history in there, and also some things that relate to world events."
1007 York St. Denver, CO America/North_Dakota/Center

Judy Collins
Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices.
