Denver Beer Week

WHEN: Thru Sept. 23, 2023

Enjoy nine days of all things beer. Head to The Mile High City for festivals, tap takeovers, brewery events and much more. 

Civic Center Eats 

WHEN: Thru Sept. 28, 2023; Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Civic Center Park

Every Wednesday and Thursday From May through September, Civic Center Eats transforms Civic Center Park into a lunchtime extravaganza with Denver's best food and fashion trucks and live music. It's your chance to savor a variety of cuisines while supporting our city's small local business scene and the Civic Center Conservancy's mission to restore and enhance Civic Center Park, Denver's only National Historic Landmark.

Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms

WHEN: Thru Oct. 28, 2023
WHERE: Denver Botanic Gardens – Chatfield Farms
Get lost in Chatfield Farms' seven-acre Corn Maze, or simply watch the fun from one of two 15-foot tall illuminated bridges. Smaller visitors (age 10 and under) can explore the corn mini-maze. 

Great American Beer Festival

WHEN: Sept. 21–23, 2023
WHERE: Colorado Convention Center

America’s largest beer festival and cultural phenomenon is back for three days of beery celebration. Don your finest pretzel necklace and join the fun at the Great American Beer Festival (#GABF) to enjoy beer, cider, seltzer, kombucha and non-alcoholic and gluten-free beverages from hundreds of breweries across the nation. There will also be live music, a silent disco, karaoke, games, a costume contest, food trucks and more!

High Plains Comedy Festival

WHEN: Sept. 21–23, 2023
WHERE: Various venues in Denver

Founded in 2013 by Denver comedian/writer Adam Cayton-Holland, this festival features a mix of local and national comics in venues throughout the city-with a special emphasis on the historic Baker neighborhood surrounding South Broadway. High Plains has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talent-packed and fun-filled festivals in the country. While the curated list of comedians changes from year to year, it is always packed with a diverse mix of nationally and internationally known headliners, rising-star road warriors and burgeoning talent from the amazing local scene.

Denver Silent Film Festival

WHEN: Sept. 22–24, 2023
WHERE: Sie FilmCenter
Step into a bygone era of film magic at the Denver Silent Film Festival with a superb slate of silent-era masterpieces and newly restored discoveries, presented as they were meant to be experienced: on the big screen with extraordinary live musical performances. It's sure to be a feast for lovers of classic films and live music! 

Downtown Boulder Fall Fest

WHEN: Sept. 22–24, 2023
WHERE: Downtown Boulder
This three-day autumn festival features local food, a large beer/wine/margarita garden, live music, family entertainment and activities and features the Firefly Handmade Market all along the historic Pearl Street Mall.

Denver Oktoberfest

WHEN: Sept. 22–24 and Sept. 29–Oct. 1, 2023
WHERE: Larimer and 21st in the Ballpark District
The free annual Denver Oktoberfest is almost here! Get ready for beer, pretzels, games and so much more celebrating German culture and cuisine. Denver Oktoberfest has been a staple two-weekend festival in Downtown Denver since 1969. From keg bowling to stein hoisting, live music and more, there’s something here for Oktoberfest pros and first-timers.

Denver Walls

WHEN: Sept. 22–Oct. 3, 2023
WHERE: River North Art District - RiNo

Denver is the 25th city to become a part of the globally recognized Worldwide Walls series of street art events, which, since 2010, has brought murals to public spaces. Spearheaded by Denver-based artist Ally Grimm (aka A.L. Grime), Denver Walls will feature 15 to 18 local and international artists painting across 12 to 15 walls in and around RiNo Art District. Mural installations will begin on September 22, with the majority of public events taking place over the weekend of September 29 to October 1.

Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns

WHEN: Sept. 22–Oct. 31, 2023
WHERE: Hudson Gardens

Presented and produced by The Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns will delight adults and children alike under a magnificent glow of 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins and larger-than-life pumpkin displays. A magical carnival, a nautical sea-scape, a pirate ship, dinosaurs and dragons illuminate the grounds of Hudson Gardens in a soft, inviting glow where you’ll find magic around every corner.

Denver International Festival

WHEN: Sept. 23, 2023
WHERE: Civic Center Park

The sixth annual Denver International Festival is entirely free to the public and unites our great city around common factors we all love: live music, food, beer, wine and art from around the world. The Denver International Festival is the largest celebration of cultural diversity in Colorado, with more than 25 live performances, more than two dozen food trucks, a beer and wine tasting, a kids' village and more.

Feed Your Seoul: Colorado Korean Culture Festival

WHEN: Sept. 23, 2023
WHERE: Auraria Campus — Tivoli Quad

The vibrant and rich tapestry of Korean culture is set to take center stage at the very first Colorado Korean Culture Festival. This is an opportunity for individuals to immerse themselves in the beauty and diversity of Korean traditions, both past and present. From the captivating melodies of traditional singers to the high-energy performances of contemporary KPop acts, the event is a true amalgamation of Korea's historical legacy and modern artistry. In addition to the thrilling music and dance acts, the festival will be a haven for food enthusiasts eager to savor the flavors of Korean cuisine, indulging in an array of delectable dishes that showcase the intricate balance of sweet, savory and spicy for which Korean food is renowned.

Denver Beer Co. Summer Festival Series

Celebrate the end of summer at Denver Beer Co. with live music, food trucks, entertainment and, of course, lots of craft beer! Entrance is free and open to the public.

Day Out With Thomas™

WHEN: Sept. 23–24, 2023
WHERE: Colorado Railroad Museum, Golden
Hop on board an interactive train ride with a life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine and enjoy access to hands-free activities including live entertainment, scavenger hunt, hay bale maze, stage shows, sing-a-longs and much more! It’s full steam ahead to an unforgettable day with a host of train-related activities, including a special appearance from Sir Topham Hatt, the Railway Controller from The Island of Sodor.

Denver School of the Arts 4th Annual Block Party

WHEN: Sept. 29, 2023
WHERE: Denver School of the Arts South Campus

Free family fun! Enjoy live performances and art demonstrations from the students at Denver School of the Arts. Food trucks, lawn games and more make this a perfect fall evening for families.

12th Annual HOOTenanny Owl & Music Festival

WHEN: Sept. 30, 2023
WHERE: Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center

Calling all kids and families! Join Denver Audubon for a day of excitement at the 12th Annual HOOTenanny Owl and Music Festival. Get up close to majestic owls with live demos by Nature's Educators. Dive into owl crafts, scavenger hunts and pellet dissections. Explore interactive tables from nonprofit partners like Colorado Parks & Wildlife, U.S. Forest Service and Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. Dance to folk tunes by Nearly There, discover owl-themed treasures, and support conservation efforts. All ages are welcome! Proceeds benefit Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center.

18th Annual Pumpkin Festival and Weigh-Off

WHEN: Sept. 30, 2023
WHERE: Jareds Nursery, Littleton

Some of Colorado’s largest pumpkins compete for state and world records, with giant veggies like gourds and tomatoes, giant sunflowers and squash for all to see. Enjoy eats from local food vendors, bounce castles, a maze for the kids, a corn pit and live music.

The Lumberjack Festival

WHEN: Sept. 30–Oct. 1, 2023
WHERE: Clement Park, Littleton

Calling all lumberjacks and lumberjack enthusiasts! Join us for The Lumberjack Festival, where you can test your skills with axe throwing, hammerschlagen, sawing and more. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the thrill of the lumberjack life, live country and bluegrass music, chainsaw art, a petting zoo, face painting (beards for everyone!), a roaming photobooth, delicious food, a beer tasting and bar, a market and flannel as far as the eye can see!!

Fright Fest

Every October, Elitch Gardens transforms into a frighteningly fun haunted theme park, with family-friendly scares during the day and spine-tingling frights by night. Enjoy Halloween decor, spooky live performances, and all your favorite rides!

Farmers' Markets

The Mile High City's more than 20 farmers' markets aren't just about locally grown produce, delicious baked goods and prepared foods — though you'll find those in abundance! Each market is a festive, weekly street fair, many with live entertainment and family-friendly activities. 

Denver Zoo 

With over 3,500 animals on 84 gorgeous acres, Denver Zoo is an amazing experience year-round. Your donation helps to provide world-class care for the lions, giraffes and elephants, as well as other wild animals and wild places, from the Rockies to Mongolia.

Denver Botanic Gardens 

One of the top five botanic gardens in the nation, Denver Botanic Gardens is an oasis in the city, offering year-round events, a children’s garden, lifelong-learning opportunities and research to preserve Colorado’s precious natural resources. Meanwhile, Chatfield Farms, located in nearby Littleton, takes pride in its exemplary nature preserve and gardens. Located on 750 acres, this picturesque site includes display gardens and a historical farm with a rustic barn.

Denver's City Parks

No matter where you find yourself in The Mile High City, you’re likely only a few steps away from a lush and relaxing green space. Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time to explore Denver's more than 5,000 acres of traditional parks and parkways, as well as an additional 14,000 acres of spectacular mountain parks in neighboring counties that are maintained by the City and County of Denver.

Denver Street Art

Denver street artists have been busy brightening (and enlightening) the urban landscape for decades by making canvases of the city’s alleyways, building exteriors, warehouses, garage doors and storefronts. Grab your camera and take a stroll past some of the city's favorite murals. 

First Friday Art Walks

Galleries, studios and cultural attractions in Denver's art districts stay open late the first Friday of every month for a mind-expanding night of art, food, drink and fun.
