Real News Day <p>Real News day will open with a morning panel at the Colorado Capitol building on the topic of the #MeToo phenomenon, featuring Kindy, Colorado Speaker of the House Crisanta Duran, and representatives of the University of Denver and the Denver community.<br /><br />Then, at the University of Denver's Cable Center at 12:30 pm, You're invited to the 25th Anniversary Estlow Anvil of Freedom Award Lecture by Kimberly Kindy, investigative reporter for The Washington Post, who worked on the Post's 2016 Pulitzer Prize-winning series on police shootings. Kindy will speak on the importance of journalism in times of turmoil and what journalists can do to combat the spreading fear of "fake news."<br /><br />Finally, the Denver Press Club will honor Marty Baron, executive editor of The Washington Post and who led The Boston Globe team that won a Pulitzer Prize (as shown in the Oscar-winning film "Spotlight") with its most prestigious prize, the Damon Runyon Award. </p> 200 E.
