For the budget-minded, Denver is the perfect spot for an affordable vacation getaway. These free tours take you behind the scenes at several unique Denver attractions.

Hammond's Candy Factory

Anyone with even the smallest sweet tooth will love this free tour, which gets you behind the scenes at Hammond's Candy Factory, a company that has been making candy in Denver since 1920. You'll come away with a newfound respect for the candy industry and plenty of free samples. Tours are available Monday–Saturday, 9:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Great Divide Brewery

Get a behind-the-scenes look at Denver's craft beer world on a free tour at the Great Divide Brewery in downtown Denver. Tours take place Monday–Friday at 3, 4 and 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 p.m. No reservations are required. Please wear close-toed shoes.

Colorado State Capitol Building

Tour the magnificent Colorado State Capitol Building. Stand at exactly a mile high on the steps, see Allen True's beautiful murals, listen in on the Colorado General Assembly, and check out the gorgeous Rose Onyx wainscoting. Free guided tours are available Monday–Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. All tours begin at the Visitor Information Desk, north side, first floor.

Colorado Sports Hall of Fame

Come see the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, a free museum honoring Colorado sports legends. Open Thursday–Saturday (summer Monday–Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also, visit Empower Field at Mile High. Tours begin each half-hour and are 75 minutes in length. This is your chance to see the 'back of the house" where the Broncos play.
